The Present Look is a contributor web site harnessing the power of technology and the Internet to facilitate numerous people collectively publishing and contributing together producing a Modern Day Digital Magazine. With the advent of digital technologies the barrier of entry, into which was once an elitist club known as the media, has been dropped. Now any one with a digital still or video camera and a computer can create and publish content to an international audience. What once took hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment now can be done with a few thousand dollars and distributed internationally through the internet. With more and more bloggers (amateur writers / journalist) and digital media creators (amateur photo journalists and video producers) creating content and publishing to the internet it is becoming increasingly difficult for our work to get discovered by an audience. As a lone internet publisher how many people are going to find you? You can pass the word to your friends and they to others, but it will take a long time to build a sizable audience. On the other hand if some how your work could appear in the New York Times (for example), which is well know with many viewers, you will instantly have a huge audience. The chances of getting our content into the NY times or any other mainstream Media publication is very rare. By creating an online community with many contributors of videos, photos, and text in one place with more and more people viewing it, we are helping each other by building a large audience for our work. When we publish to the Present Look we will have the instant audience, (as the NY Times ) which we created together. Don't be the unknown lone publisher. Through building a community of publishers at one place by working together to create content and spread the word about our site we will build a publication and an audience to rival any Mass-market Mainstream Media Organization.
